The competitors and their seedings in the finals stage of the racketball tournament, which will be played from 2 pm on Sunday 18 March, are as follows:-
Division 1. Paul Shade (1); John Rowe (2); Ian Moody (3) and Paul Lindsay (4).
Division 2. Peter Lewis (1) David Roberts (2); Mark Waddell (3) Pete Edwards(4).
I have offered "wild card" places to Pete and Mark in the Division 2 finals because Philip Waters and Chris Humphries, who came second and third in the league, have told me that they are not available for the finals.
As Pete and Mark may be surprised to be in the finals, I should be grateful if they would confirm that they will be available to play. All other finalists will have known for some time that they would qualify for the finals and would already have informed me if they were not available so I am assuming that they will be there but, if anyone's situation has changed and he won't be able to take part, please let me know as quickly as possible, so that I can offer his place to the player who just missed out on a finals place - i.e Bradley Sawyer in Division 1 and Simon Taylor in Division 2.
The order of play will be:-
1. Division 2 semi finals.
2. Division 1 semi finals.
3. Division 2 main final and "best of the rest" final.
4. Division 1 Main final and "best of the rest" final.
In the semi finals of both divisions, seed 1 will play seed 4 and seed 2 will play seed 3. The semi final matches will be played "best of 3". In the finals, if both players agree, the match will be "best of five". I the event of disagreement, then "best of 3" will prevail.
I should be grateful if everyone could come to the courts by 2pm and if everyone could stay until the end of the tournament so that division 1 players can mark the Division 2 matches and vice versa.
David Roberts
