Racketball Round Robin and next Racketball League

The racketball tournament round robin box and the non tournament box both end on Saturday 23 March. Please try to play as many as possible of your remaining games and enter your scores by 11 PM on that day. Both boxes will remain on "my courts" for at least a week until they are replaced by a new racketball league after the tournament finals have been played but scores entered after the finishing date and time won't count.

On Sunday 34 March I will send round a notice with the names of the top eight players in the round robin and their seedings for the finals. I should be grateful if all the named players would confirm their availability for the finals, which will take place on Sunday 3 March starting at 13.30, as soon as possible thereafter. If any of the eligible finalists are not available that afternoon, I will offer their place(s) to the player(s) next below them in the round robin stage. If anyone who has already scored enough points to believe that they have a good chance of ending in the top eight already knows that they will not be available to play in the finals, I should be grateful if they would let me know now.

The composition of the next league will be based on the results in the round robin, in the non tournament box and in the finals. As usual, I will by default enter everyone by who has played at least one match in the current league unless they tell me that they will not be available to play in it. (I have already been told by Onone that he won't be available as he is moving.) Conversely, if there is anyone who did not take part in the round robin or the non tournament box but would like to join the next league, please let me know.

This will be the last league I will set up. I've noticed over the years that all racketball and squash players sooner or later give up, usually suddenly and without warning, and, as I missed leaving "sooner" many years ago, "later" must be approaching, so I thought I should bow out of my role as organiser in an orderly fashion before that happens. I'm very glad to say that Alaister Putt has agreed to succeed me. I wish him well in the post and hope he enjoys it as much as I have.
